The Government of Assam has introduced a common online admission portal called Assam Samarth Admission Portal also Known as SAMARTH to simplify the admission process for Undergraduate (UG) Programs in all Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) in Assam. Starting from the 2023–2024 academic session, this portal helps students apply for four-year UG courses and five-year Integrated Master’s Programs in:

Government colleges
Private colleges
Provincialized colleges
PDUAM colleges
Government Model Colleges
State Universities

About SAMARTH:
SAMARTH is a project by the Ministry of Education, launched in 2019 under the National Mission on Education through ICT (NMEICT-II, now NMEICT-III). Its goal is to help universities and HEIs manage their operations digitally, including:

Planning
Administration
Student services
Monitoring

The project provides HEIs with a cloud-based, customized ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system designed specifically for Indian higher education institutions. This system helps colleges and universities streamline their processes for students, staff, and other stakeholders.

How to Apply in Assam Samarth Admission Portal?

All students who have passed the Higher Secondary (Class 12) exam must now apply through the Samarth Portal for Bachelor’s degree courses.

Admissions will be granted based on merit, and selected students can join their preferred colleges

Go to the “Important Web-Links” section
Click on “Online Application Form”.
Register first – Enter basic details (name, etc.)
Fill in personal & educational details (as required).
Upload necessary documents (marksheets, photos, etc.).
Submit the form – An acknowledgement receipt will be generated.
Take a printout of the submitted form and receipt for future reference.

Assam Samarth Admission Portal is divided into two stages.

Stage 1: Registration & Profile Setup

Starts: 11th April 2025 (from 4:00 PM)
Students must register and complete their profiles.
This step remains open even after Stage 2 begins.

Stage 2: College & Course Selection

Begins after Class 12 results are declared.
